Virtual School Project

For dissemination to educators I created a screen video of the creations explaining how I had set up the server and showing the creation of the 3D virtual school. This has been placed on You Tube to allow other educators to view the outcomes.

I am a teacher in a secondary school in North Wales in the UK. I teach the three Sciences, Media Studies and IT.
I have submitted a bid to the General Teaching Council for Wales in order to examine the potential of building a virtual school on Second Life (Teen Grid).
Project:
1. To establish a virtual classroom/institution on SL/Teen Grid
2. To transfer teaching resources/associated learning objects from our VLE and intranet onto SL/Teen Grid
3. To trial with students
4. To integrate the SL identities with the Moodle courses (using SLOODLE?)

We hope to be able to generate references to identities in SL/TeenGrid so that we can enable access to resources and allow feedback of information to the course tutors.

Any help regarding information or enabling the acquisition/use of land for trialling which allows acess to pupils and teachers preferably at no cost will be gratefully received.
